2006 Winter Meeting
On Saturday, February 11, the Winter Meeting Gala Night was held at the Holiday Inn Select in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Student Job Fair was held prior to the annual Dr. Walter J. Ernst Veterinary Memorial Foundation Auction and was quite a success. Through the generosity of the veterinarians and guests, the auction raised over $10,000.
Immediately following the Student Job Fair, awards were given out. This year's awards are as follows:
Dr. Ralph C. Cooper Award: Patrick F. Thistlethwaite, DVM
Everett D. Besch Distinguished Service Award: Renee A. Poirrier, DVM
Sales Person of the Year: Tommy Mosley, J.A. Webster
Support Person of the Year: Sandy Grantham, Alexandria Animal Clinic
Pet of the Year: Binky Roger, owned by Charlene Roger
In addition, awards were given to honor those who provided leadership and service to animal and animal owner hurricane victims:
